I checked my tire pressure yesterday and needed to add a bit of air in each one. I have a small compressor and getting air in the front was easy. However, my dual air chuck does not even come close to fitting in the tight spaces of the rear wheel. So off to my local gas station to fill it but the nozzle they had would not fit either. They have one of those standard flexible hose with the built in pressure gauge fittings. I tried to snake it through the spokes at all different angles and couldn't get it to make a tight fit.
Also BMW bike dealers (GASP!!!) sell a 90 degree screw on attachment for $3 that
will allow most gas station air pumps, even the ones with the long wands, to fit.
You can't leave it on the valve stem, you have to remove it after every use, but if
you really need air and you can't get the pump to fit, the extra minute or so to put
it on and take it off is well worth it. I've only had to use mine once, but once is all
it takes. It stays with the bike in the tool bag.
I've got a 1" extionson I put on the valve stem prior to servicing the tire and I remove it when I'm completed. IF you use this method you have to make dog gone sure you take off that extension or the caliper could take out the valve stem. Done this for many years. I've got an FXD so I don't know what you can use on a FXDC.
