exhaust

i have a 08 streetbob with vance and hines short shots. can i take out the baffles? and will i need torque cones if i do so?

You can, but why would you? Open pipes, especially short shots sound rather high pitched and shitty in my opinion.

I guess if you want to make a lot of noise at the expense of losing a lot of power....

Torque cones are about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

Just an opinion...

The standard baffle is practically straight through and sounds great. I would only take it out if you plan on BCT's. I've never heard or felt the power in them, but I've read great things on here about them.

I changed out my vance and hines big radius two into one pipes for these pictured for the look I wanted, which are 2in straight. Because of the back pressure I was gonna lose I inserted torque cones and I put it on a dyno running about the same torque with higher horse power. The sound is good. I dont know why torques cones would be useless, to each his own, but I have used them several times and havent been let down yet.
