I have an 08 dyna street bob with a 96 ci twin cam motor, it has vance & hines short shots with baffles in them, my question is if i take the baffles out and get a new programmer will i have any motor problems.
The exhaust won't have any back pressure. This helps the cylinders exhaust the burnt fuel and develops the torque. The power off the engine goes flat real fast.
Can't say you would have motor problems, but you will lose some low end torque. I put in the V&H quiet baffles to get more back pressure, and I gained some torque. Don't know how much, but I can definitely feel it.
why pull the baffles in the short shots? not loud enough for you? if you want more noise, pull the baffles, drill some bigger holes and throw em back in. that way you keep backpressure and the pipes are louder.

Same here. What kind of programmer are you going with?
