Yep:

FLD: $15,999.00

FLHR: $17.499.00

$1500 difference.

Looking on the website, I will admit that the presentation looks a little better now. but I still don't see a point with the price being that close to the Road King.

Same here. It looks better now that I saw real pictures instead of a drawing but I don't see it worth the minor cost savings from a RK. Go big at that point. OR...get a FXDC/FXDB and put your own bags and windshield on a TON cheaper. This one is a head scratcher for sure.

Again, it's a good/great idea on paper...offering a "touring" Dyna but it needed to be more specialized, "Dyna-centric" and cheaper. And again, I don't see why a windshield would be added. We've been able to add a windshield to all dyna's forever. A quarter or full fairing would be new and exciting (well, if you like that).

I agree! Given that choice it's a no brainer for me that when it comes time for me to move on from my FXDC the FLHR is #1 on my list!

I believe the point is:

FLD 15,999

Victory Cross Roads 16,298 (when equipped with windshield and hard bags)

I think I can see where the FLD would appeal to some. By the time you get a street bob or super glide for 13k, add hard/detachable saddlebags, detachable windshield, floor boards, and upgrade to 103", I would guess you would be around 3k. That's assuming you want all that stuff to begin with.

Maybe they will bring back the floor board option for Dyna's?

Just some food for thought......there are a few people out there that own a Sportster because they wanted a HD and that was the only choice they could really afford at the time. I would imagine that this are the same people that will push there bdget as fare as they can while still being able to get a good touring bike that cost them $18K (closer to if not over $20k with tax, title and tag). I happen to be one of those people, I know I can afford to RK or a Street Glide, but I would not be able to afford much more let alone be able to go out and enjoy it.......cause we all also know that upkeep on a motorcycle is not cheap either....unless you happen to be one of those owner that only put on a few hundred miles a year and not 15,000 like I do!
