I too really like this oil cooler for the reasons you listed. I have an 09 FXD and the down tubes as you seem to be aware are 1 1/2". Could you provide more information as to your solution and/or a close up picture? To bad Milwaukee Twins seem to offer the offset clamps in only 1 1/8" or 1 1/4". Thanks for any details you could provide.

You take the brackets that Milwaukee Twins offers, and you cut them in half, then you get a pair of 1 1/2 brackets from HD for added stuff (Kuryakyn has them) and then you bolt the two together to make the clamp system.
