Default ape hangers

so got my 15in ape hangers installed yesterday with the burly brand cable kit and wow! scarry as hell, almost dumped my bike twice. once on a sharp low speed corner and the going down the freeway it was like having death wobble! and the burly clutch cable is a piece of crap, its verry sticky and not smooth at all. i dont know how yall with apes like riding with them but im done. think im going to get 10in t bars instead since i liked my 6in street slamers (a little short) i had on there before the apes

What kind of apes do you have? I have the burly 14" narrows and magnum cables. I don't have any issues. I had to get used to the handling but it was pretty easy.

Dude, did you take a riding training course? If not, you need to take one before you spend anymore money. If so, then just do EVERYTHING you did in training with your new apes. You basically just got a new style of bike and need to get used it.

Apes are very easy to use, IMO, but they are dependent upon a person's style, as well as their body type and preferred stance.

Apes are not for everyone. Should be able to sell them pretty easy in the cassifieds or ebay.... as long as the buyer does not see this post

I had 14"s then a 6" slammer type now I want my apes back. All though with the t bars you feel more in control, I never had an issue with the apes. Apes are for a more laid back comfy riding style where a drag is more aggressive. How tall are you? Im 6'4" and with 14's my arms are straight out.

i took the riding course and have been ridding for 6years, i can get used to the handleing but the death wobble feeling going down the freeway just scares me too much. the bars are the 15in bonanza apes on stock risers. i also ride dirt bikes allot so i think i should have just got 10in t bars instead. either way im spending money on a new clutch cable to reach for the apes or use factory cable and get 10 in t bars

I recently posted up about apes adding to the Dyna wobble. I have a True Track and even with that, there still is just a touch off high speed wobble. The respones both on and off the board were mostly that yes, large apes exegerate any wobble or wiggle a bike has. So your not wrong in that sense. Such is life i guess, because I still love my apes.

maybe you just went to high i have a 05 wideglide that came with the mini apes ten in, i went with the carlini 12 in that are actually 13 in and there one in riser i went with chromlite cables, after a week had to adjust clutch cable because of stretching, but sence than perfect my hands are just at shoulder height, when i first got on it i thought wow not much difference, than i made a slow u- turn and almost dropped bike, now i can do more than i could with my old style love them takes some getting used to, but anything you change will feel a little weird

they take some getting used to man, everyone had a few close calls or wow that was wierd moments when they got their apes, as for the death wobble i would look into my fall away before i blamed it on the apes, maybe even wheel alignment. dont sell them just yet, and did you lube your clutch cable? thats probably why its sticky,..

polly bushings help a ton also
