No friends in high places, the switch back is what I would have bought had it been available at the time. Since it wasn't I built my own using a Super Glide and some selected Fat Boy and touring parts. In the end they are very similar bikes.

The fender is about 1/2" wider than the stock one. Here's a thread I started that has some pictures of the fender in it.

Thanks - I kind of want that curved touring signal bar, yours looks good but lots of work whereas the switchback fender is just a 1/4 narrower and should bolt on but I would need to make it wider with the 200 I have on there - not much clearance.

Switchback is very versatile, but the whole idea of the FX was the FL chassis with and XL fork back in 71. So it's a bit confusing to me.

But if it rides well, more power to it. And they gave more power to it!
So your saying you don't like Wide Glides either since they have wide forks?

600 miles so far, front breaks suck, bike handles awsome, went to easyrider show and everyone commented on it, ride is superb, i will agree bags need to be bigger. but all in all i am glad i got it,

You could try some Lyndal or other aftermarket brake pads up front. Might help.
