The concept is kinda cool and I like the front wheel. Not so sure I like how it looks with the bags but they are definitely practical....

Other than the red paint, the wheels were the first thing I noticed. I immediately thought about Crager when I saw them. They have a chrome set that look like them also. $449.00 each, plus all the extra crap the dealership wants to charge you. When was asking about the one I was interested in, I asked about a backrest and swapping out the black wheels for the chrome ones. Those three items alone were going to add almost $3,000.00 to the OTD price. I can't believe all the 50.00 and 100.00 parts you have to have just to add a backrest and swap out two wheels.

My Corbin bags have a bracket that bolts to the struts and then it has the 3 mounting points on it.

I had some signals attached to my fender once and the vibes cracked the fender...think the bags would do the same thing.
Here's a picture of the bag mounting structure ... there is a structural member bracing the back of the rear fender that supports the lower mount ....

There is probably a 'work around' that would allow one to use the bags with another fender ... haven't pondered it enough to be able to offer a solution at present ....

IMO it is ok I guess it needs to grow on me a little more like the crossbones did. I do like the 103 engine however!

I'm with you on the name. Switchback sounds a bit too much like "broke back" as in mountain...

Who cares about the name, as if any other bike has a great name you just love to say or tell people about.

I saw the bike for the first time last week and all I can say is, I really like it. There is always a few things about any new bike you might not be crazy about but it can either be changed or learned to live with.

What gets me anymore about any new bike is the negative comments such as, since it's a little smaller, that it's a women's bike, or a baby roadking, like something is wrong with that.

You forgot about Road Queen. Salesman at my local dealership use that one when referring to the switchback.......You will see a lot of these next year with low mileage up for grabs when owners upgrade to 2013 Road Kings. If you really love the switchback then wait a year and get a used one for around 12-13 grand.

If "Switchback" bothers you, just call it a "FLD".
