Exclamation something got messed up

little bit of a read ahead

well i just got back from riding tonight and something went wrong. i was on the last straight away to my house and decided to get on it and rip it some. well when i got home to stop my bike was making a really random and weird noise, it almost sounds like a turkey call and it sounds like its coming from the bottom left side of the motor.

my bike is a 2001 superglide fxd. any help or ideas would be really appreciated, casue not being able to ride really really fu*kin sucks

Like a chirping turkey call sound? Maybe the belt chipped out or is going bad? May need more info and that one.

If the belt is chipping out, the chunks might be hitting on the guard. Just take a look at the belt, run your hands around it and you'll know right away if that's it. Careful for possible sharp spots on worn or beat up metal tho...

So you were stopped when you heard the noise? That wouldn't be the drive belt. Maybe a clutch or compensator.

Couple of questions for clarification...Are you saying it makes the noise both when riding and standing still? Does it change with engine RPM's or only with ground speed? Trying to narrow down the possible causes. Engine related OR "anything else"

Sounds like something got messed up, take it to a dealer to let them listen to it.
