If you get in the Branson, MO area go east on 160 and then south on 125 and ride the ferry across the White River/Bull Shoals Lake. It's not a large ferry but it's not often that you get the chance to ride a ferry in central USA.
I live west of Siloam Springs and do lots of ridin' in Ark and southern MO.
+1 That ferry is pretty cool, along with some great road's.
clothes for a few days and a good FF helmet you should be fine. A comfortable leather jacket and a helmet that fits properly will do wonders for your comfort level. I was going to try a windshield on this bike but having one in the past has added more wind buffeting than I like. I just went on a 1800 mile ride with just a FF helmet and kuryakyn roll bag on my front forks/handlebars and was plenty stocked up on clothes and plenty comfortable for the ride. Treat your leathers for water and unless you just get in a downpour you will be fine.
I would never do a trip without my H/D touring windshield. I only wear a 1/2 helmet, did the FF in my ricer day's, and will never go back. Without the W/S a 180 mile ride is terrrible
well I got the windshield in, snapped it on in about 2 min's. took it for a ride and I just don't care for it. I get the ever popular buffeting. but hey I got a lowered bike with 18" apes, maybe a shield is just not for me....anyone want a good deal on a used shield?? 166 shipped and its yours!!!
Try tilting it forward first and lowering it as low to the headlight as you can. The top brackets are slotted and allow for at least 1/2" of tilt that equates to about 2.5" of forward tilt for the top of the windshield.
I used to get all kinds of buffeting as I experimented with raising and lowering the windshield and tilting it back. I finally tilted it forward and lowered it, now I'm good for as fast as the bike can go. Crosswinds sometimes give me a slight bobble at about 50 MPH only, but disappear above and below that speed.
