can't find neutral!

Default can't find neutral!
just got a 98 dyna. runs great. looks great, but once it gets warmed up it hard to get back into first gear or find neutral. i readjusted the clutch and it did not help. checked the oil level and it appears to be high when cold. any ideas????

May not be the answer you are looking for, but I can almost never hit neutral on my 2011.

My 2011 hits neutral easily.....If the clutch is adjusted properly, you might want to check the tension on the primary, can't recall if being too tight affects shifting, seem to recall something like that from years ago but could be wrong.

Too much oil in the primary can make neutral difficult.

I would refill the transmission with a heavier gear oil. Something like SAE 75W140. That will settle the clunk down and make it easier to find neutral.

on my bike you gotta be rolling to find neutral easily, even if barley moving , try it.

Things you should do anyway, and one or combo of them is the reason neutral can be hard to find.

1. Adjust clutch (not just the cable).
2. Adjust primary chain
3. Change primary fluid (HD dino works fine here)
4. Change trans oil with Redline shockproof

bobber s is in the same boat as me. nothing to it when rolling even the slowest amount, can be a little tricky when stopped. never really been an issue though

Use Mobil 1 V Twin in all 3 holes. Once I switched it made finding neutral easier and also took care of the clunk. Try it, you'll like it!

Try some different oils in the primary, see which seems to work the best.
