Use Mobil 1 V Twin in all 3 holes. Once I switched it made finding neutral easier and also took care of the clunk. Try it, you'll like it!
Mobile 1 yes, V-twin or Harley Syn in all three holes I've also heard, no fricken way I'd do that.
Maybe I'm old school, but tranny's should get gear lube. M-1 75-90 in the tranny and you don't need to spend extra bucks on the primary, it's just a damn chain - M-1 10-40 will do just fine (actually great) for example, or even ATF.
if changing fluid doesnt help, adjust your paw in your trans. its easy. on the left side there is a allen head bolt to adjust the paw, take off the top of your trans cover and put your bike in third gear, adjust the paw to where its centered over the little shaft. harleys are notorious for this. there are lots of forums on this.
On my bike, I needed a map to find neutral unless the engine was off.
I began using Amzoil, and neutral is "right there". Oddly, I never miss the 1st to 2nd upshift or downshift accidentally into neutral. It only finds neutral when I want it to. This change was very apparent and immediate.
just got a 98 dyna. runs great. looks great, but once it gets warmed up it hard to get back into first gear or find neutral. i readjusted the clutch and it did not help. checked the oil level and it appears to be high when cold. any ideas????
Thats the very first question I had after I bought my RK. Before someone harangs you about there being a bunch of posts about this subject here's what I did....it will help. Do a search typing in: finding neutral/trouble finding neutral etc then sit back and read but while your here this is how mine went.
I couldn't find neutral if my life depended on it. I even adjusted the clutch pack (cold is the right way), nothing. I just got used to leaving it in 1st then after I shut it off clicking it into neutral. Until I had about 800 miles on it and then I started being able to get it into neutral. Not all the time mind you but often. The fluid had very little to do with it (my personal experience guys so don't get pissy). I tried the oem fluid, I tried the 75-140 gear oil then the same oil I used in the motor Amsoil 20-50 no change. Now that I have 1500 miles on the engine I can get it in while the bike is coasting to a stop if you tap it gently and gently is the operative word. Sometime I can get it in stoped if I don't tap it too hard. Anyway this is my experience. Good luck and start reading....Tucci

If I recall correctly, CVO's come with HDSYN in all 3 holes, which is what Mobil 1 recommends also. Obviously if they recommend it or use it, it is good enough for me. Just saying . . .
from one evo rider to the next , you can **** in the primary and that will work just fine ...not sure about how hard u are searching for 1st , but I've rode a lot of evo's and most easiest way I know to hit neutral ( I ride a jockey so its nice to be able to do ) is coming up from 1st gear , with clutch in , give the engine a little blip with the throttle and she should slip right in there...

EVO experience is a good thing. When harley came out with the Twin Cam they tried using the old EVO trans. For some strange reason the trans didn't want to shift to well. They discovered that the vibrations from the EVO motor were helping the tranny to shift. That's why when coming to a stop "blip the throttle" and it should be easier to find. Also with the EVO trans you can only get neutral from first. On the TC you can get it from first or second. Try it, you'll like it.
