Hey guys, unlike most of y9ou, I went the other way and took my forward controls off to put my mids back on. I had my forwards installed at HD when I bought the bike, but they gave me the stock parts back, but I think they may have pooched a couple of items.
On the brake side, I appear to be missing a circlip to hold the brake pedal in place, no big deal. But on the shift side, I cant figure out what the issue is. It is all together, but the sifter slides back and forth (in and out) a fair bit in the primary. Is there supposed to be a bushing or spacer on the outside of the outer primary to hold the shifter in place (i.e. between the sifter itself and the primary)?
Let me know if you think something else could be the cause. The repair manual doesn't seem to have a breakdown of the shifter parts, so I cant tell if it is missing something or not. Any advice is appreciated.
Yep, Its a piece of black rubber that slides between the primary cover and the shifter. Your local dealer will have one for a couple of bux or a piece of black hose cut to fit would work in a pinch.
In case SuperFast doesn't chime back in, it looks like either a S.E. stage 1 or an Arlen Ness Big Sucker stage 1 with a trimmed down stock A/C cover.
The aluminum A/C mount to the jugs may be from the SE stage1, the rubber plug peeking out at 1 o'clock looks like mine....but that is not the filter element that came with my Stage 1 kit.
The SE kit also comes with a new lettering ring to replace the stock "96 Cubic Inches...etc", which tells the world you have the Screaming Eagle pieces behind the stock housing. I left my cover stock though
Either way, that looks damn sexy trimmed like that, nice piece Superfast.
