anyone running one on thier dyna? i searched but it looks like the touring guys are using them more than us. just curious if anyone has one and how easy it is to use. i have the pcv right now. if anyone remembers, i was having a problem with it after it got wet. well i finally got it worked out. nothing was wrong with the power commander, i just didnt reinstall it correctly after taking it off (forgot to cap off the o2's LOL). i also had to remap it cause i changed the air cleaner cover and was getting a little more air than before. so as of right now, its running great again. but i am still thinking of getting a power vision though, just dont like the thought of it getting wet again LOL so come on guys, whos got them and what do you think of it?
There are out there. I have the TTS and think i should of gotten the Powervision. Seems more user friendly. With the little monitor you can monitor things while riding. Me i have been riding around with a laptop in my backpack for the past few days trying to tune my TTS. Did you check the tech forum section. I know there all the tuners are broken down from the SE, to powervision, to tts.
yea i checked that, but i was wanting to hear from the dyna guys with it. everything i am finding in the search is alot with the touring guys. i know there are alot of knowledge in here, so i always come here when i need advice or have questions. would this be better than the screamin eagle tuner or tts?
if you ask what is better alot of people will chime in. my opinion they are all basically the same give or take. i think the powervision is more user friendly when it comes to tuning. like i said i have been riding around with an open laptop on my back for tuning.. today i was tuning and my 1st tune the battery fell out and i lost my tune. then i started tuning again and got stuck in some rain. i will say the tech section has been great when i ask for help on my tts. the powervision has that cool screen that i have seen mounted on another forum members wg. so he can monitor while driving.
I just got one for my street bob. Really just wanted it cause it flashes the ecm and doesnt piggy back. I dont have a mount for it so I havent used it live yet, though that isnt something I would do all the time. It has alot of features which most of them I will probably never use. Got mine from fuelmoto, for a good price, and preloaded with a map for my setup.
I use it - it's exceeded my expectations. You flash the ecm and put it away. I did mount mine on the handlebars for awhile to monitor and I used it as a tach and gear position sensor. It's a fantastic unit. However, I didn't like it on the handlebars so now it sits on a shelf - ready if I change out something... No worries about something getting rattled or wet. There are a ton of maps - go to fuel moto and they'll give you the map for your set up.
I have one on my 11 WG I think it is great. It's mounted on my bike and I have my RPM, Engine Temp, Gear, and odometer displayed. Got it from Fuelmoto for a good price. Been trying to figure out the basic tune on it because I still have my stock O2 sensors. The map that FM sent with it is ok but it still gets hotter than I like and there is some decel pop. I flashed a close Dynojet tune in there and it seems to be working better. FM is good to work with. I still need to get with him to figure out the temp and pop issue. The PV is really easy to install but to take it off the bike and hook it to your laptop is kind of a pain. Dynojet is supposed to come outwith a quick release for it. I haven't dealt with any of the other tuners yet but I like how I can see my motor parameters.
I thought I would want to take mine off, but I like having the TAC, Engine Temp, Trip meter, and all of the other potential signals available for viewing. I built up a mounting plate for my RAM mount to hold both my GPS and PV at the same time (and yes, I know I'm a Geek). The software and firmware for PV has been steadily improving, but the Log Tuner still seems a little quirky. I still believe that PV has the potential to become a world class product once it matures.
Awesome! Thanks for the great info. I'm probably going to get one. If I am understanding right, it is pretty much the same as the tts or SERT? Just a little more user friendly? Correct?
