Congrats doc...I can't say enough good about these bikes.....The more I ride the more I like it. Mine is a vivid black 2013, never had any of the "vibration" issues.
Have a 2012 with 17k miles, stock power plant with no vibes. Motor mount caused vibrations are not just with some switchback, but can be found across the line, there is a service bulletin on the issue. Some switchback owners have fixed vibrations by loosening exhaust and straightening to specs, many other have fixed it with 5 bucks in parts using a clevis pin and washers.
Dcmassena. Before you give up on your Nightster, change the seat! Stock Nightster seat is the worst! Good seat, 12 1/2 progressive shocks, and a quick connect windshield and you will have a much better ride. I do a lot of two up and weekend trips to camp or I would still happily be riding my Nightster. Not that I don't like my switchback.

I liked my Nightster - which is up for sale. I had Progressive on the back and still not too pleased. If I would have made up my mind to keep it I'd put on Öhlins all around and 2-1 with more height because I was always dragging on right turns.
But, I am selling it because I bought a 2013 Switchback too and that is a nicer ride. Very stable and more ground clearance. I think its a great bike and I have some good ideas I want to get done over the winter.
But, that Nightster is a really good looking bike. Got a lot of compliments on the look.
Heres my 2 cents. Bought a superglide this month, with all these mods I have done and planning on doing it to my bike it started to add up. It has started to cost the same as the switchback. Now Im asking to myself why I had not think about it before I bought my superglide.
Mods to my bike are replacing stock seat, planning on replacing my mids to forward control with footboard kit, installed backrest and sissy bar, detachable windshield, still debating if going for an ape handlebar, detachable saddle bags, etc. etc. Most of these mods are standard feature on the Switchback. And its only about $3500 more.
My point is, to all of you future buyer, take your time and do not rush on buying like I did.
But all in all, Im still happy with a decision about getting a harley. previous bike is v-star 950.
Happy Holidays
