Every now and then my bike doesn't start on the first try... But only after I have made a quick stop and the engine is still hot. It always starts on first try when it is cold. Usually happens when I fill up at the pump and the engine is off for very short period of time.
Is there a fix?
Running a Fuel Moto PCV and Bassani exhaust. It also did this before tuner

A lot of people let go of the start button too fast causing a big fart out of the intake. Try holding it down for an extra second or two.

When this happens I tend to hold down the starter button a very long time. To the point where people are looking at me and wondering if it will start. On the second try it starts right up. Its got 14k on it and has done this every now and then since I bought it.

Oh. Yeah it sounds like it may be a problem then. The EFI's should just fire right up no matter what.
Yeah and like I said it always happens at the pump after filling up. When the engine is only off for a couple minutes and is still very hot. It makes me think of when I had ATV's and they came with a "Hot Start" button, used it to make starting easier when engine was hot.
With a PCV don't wait for the fuel pump to shut off. Turn the key on, hit the run switch and hit the start button. I have found this works well. I don't really care now as I am dumping my PCV on Tues. for a TTS.
Mine does this as well. Sometimes i have to hold the start button for 4-5 seconds. Did this when i had my pcv and it does it now with my TTS. If i dont hold the button long enough it farts out of the ac. Then it fires right a way after it primes. Dunno. I have just learned to hold the button till it starts.
Mine does not do it. Going from there, first time you hit starter and not talking about what you describe as cranking and cranking, be sure you stay on it first time. I know there is a word for it me, if I get it in my head I am going to hurt starter if I hold it in and get off just an instant too soon before other cylinder gets going will not catch and dies. The second crank get another spray and you have a little too rich mixture. Next time it does it on the second crank, open throttle 1/64" turn before hitting starter. If that helps, you have a rich problem at start up. Could be an injector leaking a few drips. You say its not but could be all the after marker add on's pig tailed in and no exhaust back pressure affecting air swirl in engine. Be interesting to pull a plug right after a hot shut down to see if it's dry. Probably not too good on threads. If I tried that I would be sure to apply some anti seize the day before to the plugs.
