Default Hard Start

You aren't going to like this answer but I used to have a little problem with hard starting on my bike. Since I changed to heads with compression releases, the problem has gone away. Usually, your local dealer can drill them for the releases. Or better yet have yours ported, polished and drilled.

I would check the battery connections. My fat bob did this with about 500 miles on it and I asked the question here and that was the main response I got. Seemed to be the most simple thing to check. When I checked them it seemed tight but I gave both the pos and neg a little more tightening and have not had a problem again with hot restarting.

Plug looks dry. IS it? But appears a little rich for an air cooled motor. How many miles on your plugs. May want to try that. Here's mine at 10K, fine but got in a lot of salt on a road trip and they were all rusty. Notice slight difference between front and back. Need to try this again after hot shut down and when it is hesitant to start after some cranking. I would think if it were too much fuel you would see a wet plug. If its dry then we need to figure why it not getting fuel. PS we are talking about the 2011 FI Harley?
