Can someone with a Fat Bob do a quick check for me?
I just swapped out the stock fork springs for some Progressive ones. Now when I sit on the bike with the front brake applied and push forward so the forks compress I hear a noise as the forks go down and then back up again, sort of a muffled clunk.
I don't know if this is just the floating calipers moving about and so the noise was there before or if this is something new.
Can someone with a Fat Bob go try it for me and tell me if they have a noise too?

Cheers.
I just checked mine and my wifes, and they both did the same thing. The way I did this was, I got on them and stood up, grabbed the front and pushed forward kinda hard to compress a decent amount and they both made that clunk noise. Ours have never been touched so.... Hope this helps ease your mind.
Looking closer while bouncing the forks with the brake on I can see the front wheel rotating a small amount as the clunk occurs. I know this is supposed to happen cos of the floating disks. I'll put it down to that until I get a chance to ride it and hope that there is no clunk there while riding normally.
Its pissing down outside at the moment so it will have to be tomorrow. I'll post then and let you know.
It's not the floating rotor it's most likely that the steering head bearing is loose (or on the looser side) and needs to be tightened up.
Good thought but its not that. That's a different clunk that I fixed a while ago by adjusting the fall-away. Nor is it the other front-end clunk of loose tank-mount bolts, which are tight on my bike.
I've been checking around and had it confirmed that the noise I have is normal and comes from the brakes. So that's three different causes of front-end clunks on these bikes; no wonder there's confusion.
Clarify you're request....are you askkng if the brakes make a noise, or the springs and fluid within the fork...
Assuming you mean the brakes. Mine make a noise as the caliper applies pressure to the brake pad. I naturally assume its the caliper receeding as the brake is released. Causing the pads to sorta shift in its place .
