Paint clear Memphis Fats

Paint clear Memphis Fats
What kind of paint can I use? Epoxy, enamel, latex???
I installed my new Memphis Fats windshield then realized that I'd like the black better than the clear. Called the stealer to return it. He said it would be $25 restocking fee (no sweat, I thought. It's worth it).
Then he said Memphis Shades wouldn't take it back because I installed it and there would be scratches from the acorn nuts holding the bracket to the windshield.
That's interesting because the instructions tell you NOT to use the nylon washers that were on the windshield when you put the bracket on. (Note to self: use the washers next time)
Any idea's?

Go to the auto parts store and get a cheap roll of darkest limo tint window tint you can find. That way if you don't like it you can reverse it and it was a cheap project that's not irreversible. Remove all the hardware and with a piece of tint larger than the area your working with use excessive amounts of soap and water until its situated properly on the part of the shield you want (preferably so that when the hardware goes back on it covers the edges) and then let dry. Once its dry use an extremely sharp razor blade to trim off the excess around the edge of the shield. If it doesn't work correctly repeat the above steps until your happy with it. You can choose light smoke colored, mirror tint, or completely blacked out limo tint. If your not confident enough to try it yourself ask around at the body shops to see how much one of the local tint specialists would charge for just a small shield like that.

Joe - That's the answer I was looking for but the tint option is something I didn't even think of.
xantasm: It sounds like a better move. Thanks for the instructions. I've seen shitty tint jobs so, since this isn't something I've ever done, it might be the time to let professional do it. Can't cost much even if I let them supply the tint.
Thanks both.

I have used the Krylon plastic paint on snowmobile shields with great results

I tried a couple tinters in the area, they all said it would react to the plexi, I just used the Fusion on my 1/4 fairing and it turned out great, no scuffing, all i did was grease & wax remover, then a pre paint prep rag, No regrets,
The windshield on that wing looks good though, good job on that JRK...
