cobalt blue with 2000 miles. Anyone know what this bike should be worth (ballpark)
I guess it's a bit of an oddball year since it already has the 6 speed but still the 88.
I think I can get a good deal on one. Is there anything I should be looking for? Were there any recalls that should have been done....I know none have been done on this bike.
I bought my used from a family friend that lives out of state. In order to title the bike in Maryland I had to pay state taxes. I forgot that MD requires a bill of sale, not having one they dug out the book and looked up the value to determine the taxes. They stated $12,600 for an '06 with 1400 miles.
In August of 06, we bought one of the first Street Bob's. It's cobalt blue. Seems to be not as popular as the denim black. Makes it worth more in my opinion. Love the bike, there was a recall on the tranny, can't remember just what it was, false neutral I think. No biggie. Anyway, absolutely love this bike! It's my wife's ride; I have an 05 EGC. We love the looks of it, the ride, the performance, the attention it still gets wherever we go...............if you can get it for decent money, grab it up! These things will only appreciate over time because of it's first year
status and one-of-a kind motor. Kinda like the butt ugly 71 Super Glide................the only reason I didn't buy one of those when it came out was that "boat tail" fender has to be the single ugliest thing I've ever seen on a motorcycle! I remember at the time saying, "if I wanted a Japanese motorcycle, I woulda bought one!" Course, now I wish I had one of them sittin in the garage under a tarp! [:-] And besides, if it hadn't been for that ugly cuss, we wouldn't have all the different models to choose from now! For those who don't know it, that year Super Glide was the first time you could choose a Harley model other than an FL or a sporty! Think about that!
No but I did end up signing a document about the transmission basically saying that they would look at it every 15000 mi for free to make sure it was ok,So far the trannys been fine and I have no problems other than the one I created myself with a cheap aftermarket tuner but that's a different story.
