Hey guys just traded in my Nightster(damn Im gonna miss her)for a 2012 Wide Glide.Wouldn't you know it as soon as I got home to get the wifey geared up for a ride the dang sky let loose, damn my luck.Any way what are you guys runnin as far as sadle bags?I would like to keep it simple like my old Licks Sportster Solo Bag.I just don't care for there Dyna solo bag(not big enough and mounts to low).I looked at Harley's Solo bag but man are they proud of that or what?Thin leather and a fat price.I reckon since it's going to rain tomarrow I'll mount my V&H slip ons and get this ting sounding like it should(tuner and air cleaner later as the scratch becomes available)
You are so going to enjoy that ride! As for bags, I use the simple throwovers, seems to do everything I need them to. The only issue I have with them is the saddlebag supports get in the way of setting the shock preloads.
i did the same trade back in June, believe me when i say "you arent going to miss the nightster".....
Oh yeah the WG ride is leaps and bounds over my old Nightster, but that little Sporty pulled like a horse.Twist the throttle and it was there,My WG feels like there is a little lag in the throttle response. But that being said the Nightster had some "Stuff"where as for the time being my WG is bone stock aside from some V&H slip ons.I am diggin the ride in between rain drops here, really hadn't had the chance to scuff the tires up yet(still a little slick to hook up)but once the tires get some bite I think I'll be able to throw her into the twisties as hard as that sportster.
