Default Batwing/QR Windshield/7 in Headlight?

I'm really thinking of adding the MS Batwing or a QR HD windshield and definitely want to go to at least a 7 inch headlight. I've been following the threads on these.
My hold up is my bike is Cobalt Blue and it would need painted if I went with the MS Batwing. The cost starts to climb. I knew I shoulda went with the way faster Black one.
So maybe the HD QR is the way to go. I'm defintely looking to add a 7 or 9 in headlight too.
Any input, suggestions?
Pics a definite plus.

You could always paint the batwing to match if you go that way, it would just be more expensive than the HD windshield. I wouldn't go bigger than a 7" headlight. A 9" would look huge on there. Don't think I have seen a 9"

Check out wideopen customs fairings. They are a little more them the MS, But still only $850 including stereo and the inside is finished off. IMO the ms fairings look like a cheap quick fix. If cost is the big thing, go with the quick release w/s.

rjheff,
Here is my MS Batwing that I painted with Lacquer Rattle Cans. I just went to the Automotive parts store and got a very close match color wise right off the shelf. I also put a Lacquer Clear Coat on. It took some time because I color sanded then used a DA to compound, polish and glaze. If you do everything yourself you will come in right about the same price as a HD QR Windshield. My MS is designed for the stock 5 1/2" headlight but if you want a 7" that I've seen others put on it should come out to about the same price but then you have to add the cost of the new light of course. I love the looks of mine and it offers great protection from bugs but not so much with the wind (yet).

Damn that looks good. I'm getting ready to order one this weekend. I've seen that some have bought just the MS side plates and attached them to HD QR brackets. I'd like to go that route. Just trying to figure out what parts are needed. Is that a 5 inch windshield on yours? I'm 5'11 and think maybe a 9 inch would be best. Looks like I'm keeping the 5 3/4 HL for now.
Thanks.

rjheff, you might want to check into the 12" shield also. I'm 5'8" and think I should have gone with the 9" instead of the 5".
