Default wiring of rear signals and brake.

Hey I got a fxdwg'10 with the rear brake light on the fender and was wondering if any of you throw it away and just use theyre signals as brake lights. If so how did you organised the wiring. Thanks

I just unplugged my brake light (center) and tucked away under the seat. I moved my turn sigs forward. If I ever decide I need it back it's still there. Don't know if that helps you or not, but thought I would share that.

I taped of my plug with electrical tape and let it rest to keep out water and dirt. Everything else still functions as should and no alarms or codes are shown on my speedo.

Sweet.
Did you use the oem rear fender ?
How did you make it hold in place without the strut ?

The struts have two bolts holding the fender in place on each side. I did away with the very rear holes when I cut my struts. On the very front of the fender in front of the back wheel there is a slotted hole I used to put a bolt in and attach it the frame. That hole in the fender lined up perfect with an existing hole on the frame. I put the bolt in the frame with a nut and lock washer (all stainless) then I put the fender on with another nut and flat/lock washer. If I need to take the back fender off I only have one nut to take off in front of the back wheel.

I'm still using the forward fender strut holes for the fender as well.
