just found awesome spot for 12v power source replace bolt holding battery box with longer one and run it thru the powerport and into the battery cover.
point it towards the rear of the bike and install a large o-ring on the male end of your plug or rust and corrosion will build up inside the cigarette lighter real fast less than a month where I live.
if you use the provided factory power source remember it never turns off.
I can show you where the acc hot lead is it will stay on for 15 minutes in acc position then turns off automatically. you will need a 6 pin deutsche plug and four pin plugs.
I am running this lead into my nacelle to power every accessory leaving my powerport free for a dedicated dual usb charger that splits to both bags. charge anything on the road or in the garage.
see you soon

Sounds good bud and looking forward this setup. Hey did you see the thread i started on a quick release handle bar system? I'd love to hear your take on it and how it could be accomplished...or why it shouldn't
Strangely enough, the only dealer around that i can find, is pomona valley HD and their setup has a couple of bars on a rack...not on a bike, kinda useless.
If these aftermarket guys were smart, they would set up jigs for bars and seats and distribute to their distributors. Seat height in relation to bars is everything, well almost. It would be cool to recreate something close to our individual set ups. That could be accomplished along the lines of a weight machine where you can adjust up and down in increments. I don't know why they don't, it would sell product and let everyone know what they are getting into.
That is the setup they have at Biggs. It can be adjusted to match the ergonomics of your bike so you can compare bars. It's not just a "rack".
There's a forum member Hogrida_06 who has made at least two sets of custom handlebars that I am aware of ... his own and a set for forum member jrk5892 ...
I think these are the ones on his bike ...
... and pretty sure thes are the ones he made for jrk5892 ...
... also, saw these in his photo album ...
As I am aware, the handlebars he made for himself and the ones for jrk5892 were both powdercoated black ... if you search the members you'll be able to see photos of their bikes with the bars installed ....
Not sure who the short 'z' bars were made for ... where they ended up ... I do like them a lot ... think they would look really cool on a set of 6" offset dog-bone risers ...
If you haven't talked to him about maybe working with you, you might shoot him a PM and see if he's interested in your quest ....

Thanks for the heads up chop. I'm in discussions with another forum member on custom bars already though. Appreciate your post and intent. Isn't jrk the guy who also did a quick change handlebar system? I'd like to see that.
thanks for forwarding Tim but those are 16" I need to go to 8" and really trying to find some in 1.5"...not easy to find. Also i think i need them flat without an angle on top...also hard to find. Closest thing i can find are evil apes from carlini and the smallest they have is 12"...same height as what i have...arrrggh
You mention you haven't ridden in 25 years... hell if I dont ride for a few months it takes some getting used to again, saddle sore, back sore, wrists, shoulders, etc. Then after a few long rides it gets easier to deal with.
From ($1000s....) experience, you can spend a pile of money for stuff you eventually decide to change. Exercise is cheap.

LOL, i hear you and good point. I've put about 1k miles on it since i targeted the bars as my problem. I'm ok driving sweeps and even longer 150 mile or more days without twisties. When I did some twisties for like... all day...and trying to keep up with mrnone and his ol lady who can outride even aweful kanawlful... I was jacked to the point where i was dragging my arm home. Next day I jumped back on it and did about 100 miles with just sweeps and freeway riding. Better...but I'm thinking it's bars and not just my old a$$ wearin out.
