Default Riser torque question........

Just put wide glide trees on the bob and read online to torque down the riser bolts to 45lbs or so. I have the gooden tight poly set and before I even got to 45lbs it was squashing the bushing out from around the bottom washer(underside). I know with shocks on a car you dont tighten down all the way. You tighten to where the bushing is just starting to squish out. Any thoughts on this? I loc tited them so I dont see where their gonna go anywhere.

did you put the spacers inside the bushings? I think the book calls for 35lbs.

Torque values aren't for rubber bushings are they?My new WG has some forward play in them and the service guy said it was the rubber bushings,he offered to put poly bushings in to set em solid.Just a thought.

Forget about torque settings on your risers, snug them up good and ride it, you can adjust till you get the feel right. With apes I usually tighten more than they say to get rid of the sway in them, with t-bars less to get rid of vibration.
It's a feel thing.
