Are you referring to the touring style bags, like on a Street Glide or the color matched smaller ones that they sell for the dyna? I went with the rigid locking saddle bags because I was told by the dealer that the color matched dyna bags wouldn't fit. Also they are alot more in price, I am really happy with the bags though. If you want to see some pics of mine please see my post about my bike:
which bags are on your bike i like em...they only thing is i dont have rear turn signals so the cut out would be useless for my bike....
They are the Harley Rigid locking leather saddlebags, they are ABS plastic molded bags that they wrap in leather. So it has a hard structure and the abiliity to lock (with a key) and the look of a leather bag. They have a cutout for the rear turn signals as well as the rear shocks.
Chris, I dont know (personally) of anyone running Hardstreet, but heres my impression of the ones I have seen...
The contour of the bag doesnt follow the lines of a Dyna, and kinda looks out of place on there, and actually follows the lines of a Honda Shadow better. The bags dont sit low enough to fill the gap between the bags and the exhaust, and from the rear looks like the bike has some really big nads.
BTW, how's Gramps and his bike doing? I talked to Russell at Exile Cycles this morning and Gramps' unique situation came up in conversation. I think I might have a way out for combining the brake system for him...
larry-
i know exaxtly what you mean about the hard street bags. Lens bike is sitting in the garage with the tank off and no battery lol but i should have it back to running by this weekend..havent had a minute for myself since the birth of my daughter. my wife works weekends so i havent even ridden on a weekend in in quite a while....
to be honest i wouldnt worry about the brake system he doesnt ride anymore and is thinking about selling it....
id love to have it (even though its a softail) but he wants to sell it for an outrageous amount. if he leaves it to me one day thats cool but i cant afford to buy it...
