[quote=Foxster;8828415]Might have been true prior to 2007/8 but since then the stock ECM and O2 sensors can cope with stage-1 hardware. Its only going to be stock AFR and so not as good as a decent fueling solution but it will work OK
I am going to respectively disagree with you on this. Even 2011 ECMs can only do a maximum 5% adjustment. And like you stated it will just put it back 5% closer to the original EPA lean setting it comes with. O2 sensors first came in 06 Dynas, then 07and up all models.
I just got off the phone with my mechanic and he knows what is wrong with it for 6th gear. I hope when my rain sock comes in, I can cross the border again and have him retune it again.
Thanks to all the replies, this sure is a learning curve.

I'm curious where you got that 5% number from. Can you provide a link?
Either way, I can tell you from experience that you can put any stage-1 hardware on a late-model bike and get good dyno numbers. Sure, it will run a little hot and it will be far from a perfect tune but it will be fine if you can live with that.
The mechanic tried to explain to me that what he gave for an air/fuel mixture, my bike doesn't like in 6th gear. He said he can go in and fix it and will be sure to make me happy with it. He said other things as well but it kind of went over my head. LOL Once I get my bike in and have it redone, I will try to make further notes and let you know what he did and said.
Simple......it's the tune period. You are never going to get any great acceleration in 6th gear as its for cruising. Thats why on the dyno they do the pulls in 5th gear not 6th. The best thing you can do is change the front pulley from 32 tooth to a 30 tooth. I assume you have a SESPT? I know of many dealers who don't even sell those as the TTS is far superior and that's what they push.TTS is the company that made the original SERT. Harley hacked it and came up with their own version which is now the SESPT. TTS offers an upgrade from the SERT for anyone that has one.
Does that mean you get a discount on an upgrade if you have a sert?
I was waiting to see how her bike performed after the tuner was put on and other than the 6th gear trouble, which will be retuned on friday I'm very happy with how her bike is running.I will admit,I was skeptical about getting a tuner on my bike,I thought can they really wake the bike up that much?short answer, hell yeah,so next spring I will be getting my own SESPT,the tech in Caribou ME,is super good at this stuff,I trust him completely with my bike, besides I have to get one now, shes'alot faster than me now, grrrrrrrrr.
