When he first told me it was a Soft Tail Wide Glide I thought he just didn't really know what model it was. But it has no springs and is definitely a wide glide with more rake than a soft tail. He says it is stock but i don't know.

No Such thing............ WideGlides are Superglides, are now Dynas. The FXST/FXSTC have wide forks on them, just like WideGlides, but they are not WideGlides.
They do get mistakenly referred to as Softail Wide Glides, though.

The first WideGlide was a SuperGlide, but not a Dyna.

The FXE Superglide was in production in 1979, and the FXWG was introduced in 1980 /Wide Glide: 80ci FatBob wide glide yokes.

Softails were introduced in 1984/ INTRODUCTION OF THE SOFTAIL FRAME/ 84 FXST/Softail.

The FXWG DROPPED - END OF 4-SPEED MODELS in 1987

Dynas were not produced until 1991/DYNA CHASSIS INTRODUCED (32-degree rake)/91-FXDB/ Sturgis: Dyna Glide in Black.

The Dyna WideGlide was introduced in 1993/FXDWG DYNA WIDE GLIDE LAUNCHED/93-FXDWG/Dyna Wide Glide: old name in a new frame.

Hope this helps,

I think his must be an FXSTC with mini-apes installed to make it look like a FXDWG.. It even has the Soft tail oil tank on it.

No prize. But here is a tip: If you are looking for cash don't ask a jarhead unless I am on deployment and you are a scantily clad Thai woman! haha
