Well I should be getting my bike this week. Like a kid waiting for X-mas here. Looking forward to doing some wrenching when it gets here. From what I hear, they have a few Torx head bolts. Can anyone reccomend a couple of kits (one to carry on the road and one for the shop at home). Thanks.
At home, get a good quality set of tools, they'll cost you more than the "imported" crap, but they'll last a lifetime and should come with a lifetime warranty. Snap On is great if you can afford them, but Craftsman at Sears is a good all around choice. They're always on sale so a basic 200 piece tool kit with screwdrivers, wrenches, a couple of rachets, sockets, etc. can usually be had for less than $200.00, then add on as you have the cash or a need arises. Torque wrenches, a 1/4" in. lbs. and a 3/8" ft. lbs. are essential.
As far as a bike-carried kit, check out Cruz Tools or Windzone, both are pretty good and a good kit can be had for less than $100.00 that should handle most roadside repairs.
Yeah Scrap On or Mac tools. Good tools are big $$$$ but you get what you pay for. Craftsman tools still pull their weight next to
the big boys in my box. Go with what you can afford but dont get no name brands from home depot or wal mart.
Thanks guys. I do have a good torque wrench and most of the sockets I'll need. Mainly looking for a decent kit that included the differrent size Torx bits as well as allen wrenches. I'm with you all on the you get what you pay for mentality. I'd rather invest in the good stuff and know I'll be able to use it for a lifetime.
