Just bought an '01WG bout a month ago and have a occasional chirping sound coming from the left side as we ride.Sounds like a 10pound cricket usually as I'm rolling on the throttle.Checked the primary chain and its adjusted to 5/8 in. slack. Nothing I can find seems to be loose but this is my first Harley since '81 and I'm not a mechanic.Any and all help will be appreciated greatly.Thanks and ya'll be safe and if you can't be safe be FEARLESS

 

i had the same sort of issues took me a while to find that it was exhaust was loose at the motor tighting them up fixed it hope this will help

 

Belt adjustment or rubbing.

 

 

Had the same noise on my 01 WG. Tightened the belt and the chirping stopped.
