ok, thanks. Looked at Works shocks earlier. A little less pricey than the Ricors......coin-flip between the Works & Ricor shocks?? Thanks
IMO your making a mistake not getting the Ohlins for the rear. OH, works has a drop in cartridge system for the front mow instead of juts a spring upgrade...probably a great choice for the money... http://www.worksperformance.com/html/new_products.html
at the bottom of the page I linked...
Ohlin are flat out better shocks.... http://76.162.149.2/gpage31.html
I have the 12" #2 and they cost less than Ricor and ride better. Contact howard and talk to him about the shocks! I did get to ride Ricors for a year or so and they are a good shock but not as soft and stable as the Ohlins. The Ricors bottom easier or you have to make the ride firmer to get the less bottoming effect. They also just do not respond as fast and keep the ride as smooth over stutter bumps of bumps in corners. They do look very nice though. You can see the Ricors in my signature. I am comparing 'apple to apple' 12" shocks. Frankly, with Ohlins you can keep a 12" shock(or 11 5/8") and get a ride the other companies require a longer shock to attempt to rival. I painted my ends of the Ohlins with appliance gloss black to look great on my bike... the springs can be removed without any tools easily.
"I have the 12" #2 and they cost less than Ricor and ride better."
Thanks for the info. Looked at the site. I see a #1 that is a little less expensive than the Ricor, but the #2 is $200 more. ??
You may be reading Howards list wrong. #1 are over 900 bucks...
Ricor is selling his shocks for 629... Howards 'lists' his for 679 for the #2 shocks... http://76.162.149.2/gpage31.html .... Call him! Also I got mine about 3 years ago, since then he has worked with Ohlin to put out an 11 5/8" version that has more (yes more) travel than the common(including Ohlin) 12" shocks....this means you can have your cake and eat it to....lower the bike as well as get more travel and a better ride. You cannot beat Ohlins... they are worth every penny and Howard is the best at Harley suspension period. Small bumps disappear, lateral stability is vastly improved, large bumps are hardly felt, the shocks never bottom out. Believe me, you want Ohlins, they are better performing shocks than the other choices you listed. Ricor and works are great shocks, they just cannot perform as good as the Ohlins.
Nope, was not reading the list wrong. Just reading the wrong list. I was on the Ohlin website and figured 'howard' worked there. Did not use the link you put up because a message came on from one of my security programs that it was a 'suspicious' link.
The Ohlins are $42 over the Ricors but ...... (any money-saving coupons/codes available?)
So, I believe I'll go with the Intiminators and Ohlin shocks. Good plan?
Thanks for the advice 'n stuff!

Rounder speaks the truth! Ohlins are superior shocks and Howard is top notch.

call him! it is a simple as that(hint hint yo)! to be more precise tell him who you are and how you heard about him. trust me, his website is not "suspicious".
do not buy intiminator yet... first step, drain fork oil and replace with SE HD oil first. do this in stages. When I had the 39mm forks the SE oil gave it a great front end. No need to spend a few hundred bucks when you may get the feel you want with a simple change in fork oil.
I understand. The first link you posted is the one I had a problem with. This mornings' post with the link didn't come as a problem and it brought me to the correct site. I used the instructions for ordering/price and sent a long message. Have not received a reply, but I'm in no hurry either.
Thanks for the advice about changing to SE fork oil. Will locate and attend to it. Stages? That mean slowly?

Haven't ordered the front parts yet.
I appreciate the help very much. Thank you.
call him. by stages I mean try the least costly route for your front end first. this would be spend 15 bucks on a couple bottles of SE fork oil. Get it from the dealership. Oil wt as well as amount(oil height or oz.) in the front end can have a drastic difference in the feel and ride.
