I'm gradually blacking out my FXDF and would like to get the console black. Anyone know if there is a Harley part for a black console that's otherwise the same as the #71279-04 on the FXDF?
Second option is to make the stock console black but thought I'd look for a part first.
Its just the downtime while I get it off, wait while they get around to doing the powdercoat, dried, reinstalled. If I could have got one already black I could do the whole thing in 1/2 hour.

I work for Harley and ride an 08 Fat Bob. They don't make a console in black so you have to have it powder coated. Also the part# for a black ignition switch is 2106-0225 through Drag Specialties, can get it from your local Harley dealer for around $34.99 .. $39.00 with tax. Plus you can use exhaust studs and black mirror acorn nuts instead of the stock screws to complete the look!
Get a hold of local powdercoater and ask him to call you when has a gloss black job come up. Take your stuff in then to reduce turnaround and cost. I did my dash, belt guard and a few other things that way. Turn around was a couple of days. My only snag was that i drilled my dash for garage door pushbutton, got home and found he had swapped accidently for an undrilled one. Guy does really good work, but disorganized.
