Default Corbin/Mustang Riding Position

Hi,does anyone know if the Corbin or Mustang Touring seats alter the ride position on a SG standard or Custom compared to the factory seat.
Thanks,Tnbrit.[sm=smiley25.gif]

Love my Mustang. Just got back from a 250 mile ride, 125 each way and did not stop there or back. With the stock seat, I could only do about 30 miles at best. Tried the Corbin, it was too hard and I did not want to have to through a long break in period. Goe for the Mustang, you will not be sorry. Build quality and looks is far better than a Corbin.

That is your opinion.............. I have a Corbin Classic Solo, and find it to be extremely comfortable for long rides.......
What break-in period??

Mustang Solo seats are also very nice, just sat on one on a StreetBob. The Mustang Solo seat is wider than the Corbin.

My Corbin allows me to sit back several inches farther than the OEM solo on my FXDI. Corbin makes a "close" version if you need to be closer to the handlebars. Corbin seats have a quick release key lock, and cover the attachment hardware.

I think the Mustang may be less expensive than the Corbin............. Make sure you get a backrest, makes all the difference in riding pleasure.

There are other manufactures of high quality seats, also. Get lots of opinions.......... Both Corbin and Mustang are "Love 'em or hate 'em" seats, so opinions will vary.

I've tried both Mustang and Corbin seats on different bikes. I currently have a Corbin Classic Solo on my Bob, which sits me back a little further than the stock seat. The Corbin is very comfortable and in my opinion better made than the Mustang (Having tried both). But everyone has their own opinion. I think you would be happy with either a Corbin or a Mustang. The Corbin is leather and the Mustang is vinyl, so you have choices.

I put over 20,000 miles on my OEM seat before deciding to try a better seat. I had ridden many 400-500 mile days without a problem but the OEM seat lacked something after 8, 10 or 12 hours of riding.

I tried a Mustang Vintage Wide Solo and it moved me forward a little bit. The other strange thing about the Mustang was when I accelerated briskly I felt myself sliding back on the seat.

I then ordered a Corbin Dual Touring. I think it sits me in the same position or slightly back as the OEM seat. The Corbin is very hard though. Even after 2000 miles it is still very hard. I know other people with Corbins and none felt as hard as mine. Corbin has a one time custom alteration for free so I just sent the seat back to them. They are going to check the foam to make sure it is good. According to them it is possible to have a bad batch of foam. If the foam is ok they are going to shave the seat down slightly and add a half inch of softer foam.

I am very happy with the Corbin. I love the leather versus vinyl. Since I sent the Corbin back for adjustment I have been using the OEM seat again and I really don't like it since getting used to the Corbin.

I have a Corbin dual touring seat and love the all day comfort. It does move you back further
from the bars which I feel is a plus, as the stock seat has a cramped feel. Also, there is nothing like riding on leather vs. vinyl. My brother has a Mustang pillow seat on his Dyna which he also likes, but then he rode sportsters for years without complaint. I feel the Mustang seat puts you too close to the bars and sits you too straight up. My opinion.

I ride a Corbin Classic on my DWG. I sit further back than the stock seat, and it's a real plus since I am tall. My forward controls are now perfect for my legs.

When you order a Corbin they will take some measurements from you ( like your inseam, etc.) and I am sure that is how they will calculate the proper fit. My Corbin is hands down the best modification I ever did to my scoot. I agree with others, the break in is not an issue. From day 1 it was comfortable and beat my expectations.

The Mustang is a good seat I'm sure. However, I wouldn't trade my Corbin for anything.

Give the folks at Bar Enterprises in CA a call also, they can be reached on the web at harleyseats.com I have a custom flamed solo from them as well as a Mustang Vintage Solo, both are nice seats. The Mustang does make you sit a little higher and move you a little closer to the bars, which I don't really mind.

Corbin Solo. Can add a sissy seat or backrests if wanted. Hours of comfortable riding. Leather stays comfortable in hot temps.
