Default 50% Discount - inspired by p51bombay! Clearview Shields

The HD screen is the 18 high version and the top of it was right at eye level sitting on the bike. (I'm 5'9") I spoke with CV and told them I didn't care if I was looking through the thing, didn't ride in the rain and would be taking it off again once the weather warms up so they suggested I get their largest one which I just installed today.

Now this thing is honkin BIG, 5 inches taller at 23" and also 4" wider than the HD version. Its also very well made and even though it is a blem (all they had in stock for the size and colour I wanted) it looks flawless - their QC standards seem very high and its also about twice as thick as the HD one. So I get the thing installed and head out on 40mph, then 50mph........ nothing, hit the interstate and 60mph then 70mph and for the most part still no issues, might be just a tiny, tiny bit of buffeting but I think that may be coming off traffic and there is a little when passing trucks but that's to be expected.

Needless to say this thing blocks A LOT of wind, in fact when accelerating at highway speed it blocks enough to slow the bikes acceleration rate a little but it will get me though the winter months. Couple photos:

Hi fellow HDForum members. Inspired by this post, we are going to offer members 50%, FIFTY PERCENT off the retail price on all of our instock "blem" shields for the compact detachable/quick release shields found at http://clearviewshields.com/shop/product.php?id=23. This offer expires on Sunday, November 13th.

There are many sizes / tints to choose from and as p51bombay said, what we consider a "blem" is generally VERY hard for our customers to see.

You can go to the bottom of that web page and click "view available inventory" and check 'em out.

If you order online, please put HD Forums 50% in the "comments" section.

Note: These Shields are Designed to Mount to the OEM Harley Brackets #58387-06, 58413-06, 58444-06, 58034-96, 58626-99, 58112-96, 58346-06, 58347-06, 58348-06, 58063-04, 58601-04, 58602-04.

WOW, that's a great offer on any product and I can honestly say is a super offer on what is a very high quality product (better than the HD product it replaces) that's made right here in the USA. Even at regular prices this is a good deal, (not at all over priced) with the so called blems its a better deal but at 50% off it doesn't get much better. As Mark said, you would be hard pressed to see what they call flaws, I couldn't. Not only that but the shields come covered on both sides with a clear protective film and they give you the option of test riding with the film in place and if its not right you can send it back - pretty much unheard of with any other windshield I've ever seen. I opted to take a chance and pulled it off before riding on the theory that if something this big doesn't work they nothing will - however it worked just as Mark said it would. Kudos to him and Clearview.

Does it fit a Dyna with 49mm forks? And is it detachable, quick release/attach? If yes, how much are you asking for it?

Yes it does and fully detachable - but not for sale, I do however have the OEM size screen with no hardware for cheap.

theres no reason your eye level needs to be (about) 6" below the top of the shield to get the desired protection, way overkill! I use the hd compact with the quick detach clamp about 1 1/4" off the lower tree and fully tilted back with no buffeting. Some wind does comes up between the tank and shield but as long as I cup my smoke it works fine LOl

I rode it ONCE with the HD 18" screen, buffeting was absoultley horrible. Yes it is overkill but I only plan to use it during the winter then it comes back off - I may put on a Rifle fairing later on and see how that works, that actually improves the look.

Yep, windshields look llike chit but if you're going to use one, why not use one that works? I have HD's largest w/s for my WG and I still get a lot of wind from underneath that hits me right at the throat. Still better than nothing in 30* weather.

Thats why I have two windshields. I have a monster just like that, probably even a bit wider that I use in the winter months, and a smaller one for summer road trips. Honestly, having lots of protection is a good thing. Quite a few nay sayers, but they are all free to be as cold and wet as the choose. I'd rather ride and be comfortable than have a cool looking motorcycle thats sitting in the garage.
