Got a frame mounted helmet lock installed on the lower part of the frame tube, it is not even visible, it doesn't stop helmet thief from cutting the strap but a piece of mind, take it easy!
Exactly, it doesn't stop a thief from cutting the strap. Of course, a strapless helmet would make the helmet useless, I don't have faith in thieves to understand that before stealing it.
Good idea though.
Me? I take my helmet inside with me everywhere. Maybe that makes me look stupid, walking around a grocery store with a helmet, but living in Chicago, I wouldn't put it past anyone to steal something of mine.
Heck, there was one dude on here last year that said someone parked next to their ride at a dealership and proceeded to uninstall a few bolt-on items in front of everyone. I think he said they took some Willie G stuff and his air cleaner. Shoot, in a dark parking garage, sure I could see that....but at a dealership? Crazy!
Just wondering, would you be leaving it on when you're at a temporary stop (friends house, grocery store, restaurant) or on the street where you live (overnight)? I ask because this person parks their scooter with an upside down helmet on my walk into work and it fills up with water, I don't understand that. Heck, I wouldn't trust the bums or drunk a-holes from peeing in it either.
Looks like the lock the dealer sells from their catalog. I had one on a Heritage, but with the safety one way mounting screws, couldn't take it off when traded. Works well and is fits different size tubings. I mounted mine on the crash bar/engine guard. dd50. tomp
Get this one for 1 1/2 tube, the Harley one is for small sportster frame tube. I don't carry helmet with me, pain in the A S S, I usually leave it on the mirror and strap it down, now I lock it there, makes life easier, if someone wants to cut it, let it be.
Looks to me like that Helmet is on the ground.... I'd rather not. I just usually leave it on the Speedo or Mirror, with my sunglasses hanging on the grip... I've never had either stolen.
The helmet doesn't touch the groud at all, picture angle that's all lol.
