i have a 2006 street bob.i know my bearings are 1" and i have a 160/17 on the rear and a 100/19 on the front. what year wheels can fit on my bike if i decide to change to a different style (mag) or if i want to pick up another set of spoke wheels?
You can use '06 or '07 Dyna (except wide glide) wheels and the bearings will be the same.
thanks for the reply. soo i'm stuck with just 06 to 07 wheels? did they change in 08?
my plan is to take my wheels off and save them, buy a different set of wheels (spoke or mag) and have them powdercoated.
No, you're not stuck with those years, although the ones you can use are not clear to me. Since around 2000 Harley has used wheels across most models that use a special set of bearings, which are interchangeable. Earlier wheels with 3/4" sealed bearings, or later ones with 25mm ones can be inter-changed, by swapping the bearings. The only mod required for earlier wheels with 3/4" bearings is to drill/bore the wheel out to take a 1" bearing spacer (fits inside the hub between the bearings.
I have a Deuce mag wheel 4.5" x 17" which I plan to fit in my Glide, which will need that mod. That size is not fitted to many models, so your options are limited, but you do have (slightly) more choice. If you buy a secondhand wheel with 1" bearings it will fit straight on.
