I got an 09 Low Rider and recently had the bike shipped. Well during shipping the battery died. I charged the battery up but ever since the alarm has been acting funny. When I go to move/start the bike the alarm will chirp and won't start, I'll have the FOB in my pocket where I have always had it before with no problems. When this happens I find that I have to toggle the switch a few times before she will start or disarm the alarm.
When she does turn over there are no problems, the battery turns it over just fine so I don't think its a weak battery. And I don't have any problems once shes running.
Anyone got any ideas or had this to happen to them? I'm thinking something happened when the battery died, that it screwed something up. Any help would be great. Thanks
I looked at the owners manual and one recommendation was to make sure that the vehicle battery is putting out 12.5 volts. also check to make sure that the battery in your FOB is not weak. Looking at the troubleshooting info I would try the FOB first then the vehicle battery. Check the connection at the alarm system to make sure that it is plugged firmly into the connector.
FOB Battery before I replaced mine it acted like I had a bad switch or shorted wire, bike wouldnt start sometimes I bought 2 new batteries at Wally World and all was good. 09 Night Train.
ok i ws having some issues with my alarm also and my bike stays on a charger when not in use. it kept thinking that the fob was wrong or not the right one, then once it would start it would not want to idle, like the security kicked in as i was ridding. anyway long story short, on a whim i just decided to take the fob off my key chain and put in my swing arm bag and i now have no issues, and fyi it is a brand new battery in the fob and i kno for a fact that the bike battery is old and needs replacing. its an 07 batt
