Default Ricor Intiminators

Well I did it....
I just orderd the 49mm Intiminators for my 08 FXDC.
After I talk to Brian at Ricor, I just might get the shocks also....
I have wanted these for a long time, just could not pass up the sale....
Of course PayPal bill me later helps a bunch....
Now the anticipation and wait begins....

I am thinking of getting these also. Did you change from the stock springs also or will you stick with them?

You're gonna love 'em! I didn't fully appreciate mine till I put on Ricor's on the rear about 6 months later. I'm an aggressive rider, and love the way my bike floats over imperfections in the road while keeping maximum contact in the twisties. This is not a Ricor commercial, there are some other excellent products that will give you the same result. My point is that the stock suspension on my Fatbob was CRAP and you need to fix both front and rear to really feel the difference.
Check your pre-load before you put them in. If it's right where you like it then take 1/2 to 3/4 inch off of the spacers to offset the height of the intiminators, otherwise adjust accordingly.
Enjoy the ride!

Make sure you also use a good fork oil in the weight you like. Brian should be able to make a recomendation that works well with their product.

Cut the tube spacer down (or replace it with a shorter pipe) to make up for the intiminator height. It is tempting to take a short cut here, but don't do it. The extra 30 minutes of work will pay large dividends.

Ricor website reccomends that you keep the stock springs at first....
So I will do that...change later if needed....

And I definetly will be getting the shocks at some time....

All I can say is that the Intiminators are "orgasmic".

I must say I also did the following at the same time:
Replaced front springs with Progressive (my stock ones were bottoming out) and replaced the stock crappy HD Dunlops with Pirelli Night Dragons. I did not feel they Harley Davidson name on the tires was as important as the best ride of my life.

The combination is absolutely awesome.
A very smooth front end ride.
Takes out the small pot holes as if they are not pot holes at all. No longer slides across the narrow tar lines they use to fill the cracks in the road. Definitely no bottoming out.
The Pirelli's hug the road so well that I feel safer and can take tighter turns.
The whole front end handles superb and is nimble.

Well worth the cost but there is so little to them, it's clear they are way over priced.
But they can charge anything they want since no one else is competing with them.
A rubber bushing with a bunch of holes in it and a cad plated bolt.
I think if you call they will give you a secret code to get 20% if you are are a HD froum member. No proof needed.

You must use the 5 wt oil that's almost like water or else they will not work correctly.
