That's one option...Again the word need. Maybe you need to stick to one post per the same question and tell us more about your bike with pics

Any Harley shop will tell you yes. Any indy shop will tell you no. I will tell you that I ran my street glide on big shots for about a month without the fuel pack and then added it and really didn't notice a damn change. This could be compared to the syntho vs non syntho oil.

My $.02

Do you "need" one? No. But.... The bike is already running lean from the factory thanks to the EPA
Should you get "something"? Yeah.

Save your money on the fuelpak and get something else. I had the fuelpak, and like Guardian, didn't notice a damn thing. Bike still ran hot! Unrelated, I was having a fuel pump problem and was 100% convinced it had to do with the FP. I ordered the Power Commander V (from FuelMoto) and the bike has never ran better, or cooler... (after I replaced the fuel pump)

The PCV is a good value @ $320ish. If you want to kick it up a notch - get the auto-tune
If you have a bigger wallet than I - go for the Thundermax w/ auto tune

I run the FP on mine. The guy I got the bike from already had it installed. It works but nothing to spectacular. I would start with a Power Commander as a base and if you have the money there are even better options. If I was doing this mod the FP would not even be on my radar.

For the Fuel Pak, like all ECM controllers (except the auto tunes I guess), the map is the key. Right one will give you noticeable difference. Wrong one will give you no improvement - or worse (you can guess how I know this, LOL). Your bike will run okay without additional controller. The factory ecm can accomodate an exhaust change, but it will still run lean (per epa specs) and consequently hot. Cheapest fix is a set of XIEDs from nightrider. Next up the scale in results (and cost) is a FuelPak or PCIII. Next step could be a SERT or PCV. The only question is how much you want to spend.

The one that's referred to me a lot is actually the screaming eagle. Apparently it has some 4,000 plus settings? **** it, I'm not a firm believer in them as mine only came as part of my exhaust deal!

The Screamin Eage Race Tuner (SERT) comes inan EPA compliant version anda 'Race' version. It's a fine tuner but difficult to set up and tune on your own. If I were you, I'd either just ride the bike as is or buy a set of XIEDs ($100). After you get to know your bike better you might want to upgrade, or you might be happy where it's at. I had an 07 Road King Classic with SE air cleaner, free flow muffliers and XIEDs. Very happy with the way it performed.

Basic rule is: how fast do you want go? That equals how much do you want to spend.

They do exactly what they advertise. Add fuel. And if you know what the modes are you can add fuel in those modes or just add to mode 17 to add fuel across all the rpm range. They are fine if you get a deal on em and aren't planning cams or a big bore kit.
