I was born and raised on bikes. Dad has had Nortons, Indians, and of course many Harleys. But one of his bikes really I loved. It was a 1972 Harley Super Sport. I remember my dad swearing a lot when trying to start the thing, and of course it left its mark every place he parked it. But when it started, it was the most spine tingleing moments that a kid (I am 31) could have. That bike was low, lean and looked mean just sitting there with every part of the bike quivering as it idled. Well I promised myself that I would have a bike someday just like that. Well ,after saving my pennies and selling a lot of crap on Ebay, last June I bought a brand new 2004 Wide Glide. Well yesterday, I pulled it out of the garage and my 3 year old son was standing next to it and said to me " Daddy, loud har-wee ". so I asked my son, " Do you want to sit on it with daddy ?" He nodded yes. So I picked him up and sat him on the gas tank and the 1st thing he did, was grab for the throttle. I revved it up and he giggled his little rear off. Finally, it comes full circle.
Very nice looking ride! My husband rides a Wideglide too. I have a Sporty. My daughter is 8 but wants to be on the bikes every moment. Now she has spotted a little dirt bike that is "just her size". She asks daily when she can have it. I think I'm in trouble. She is starting to sound too much like her mom! Enjoy the new ride!
that is the best feeling in the world passing on to your child . i remember my self both of my sons and then passing it on to my grandchild heck i remember 48 years ago my first ride at 4 years old and every time i get on a bike i get that same feeling.
