As the title says I am in the process of acquiring a spoked rear wheel from an 09 FXDB to put on my 06 street bob. After doing some searches on this site and research on the Harley site I think I know what I need to do, but I am looking for some guidence from others to re-assure myself. It looks like this wheel has 25mm bearings and axle. So what I need is to pick up a new axle and spacers form an 09 or newer and then I can make the swap? Is there anything I am missing?
I think you need to go the other way. Get 1 inch bearings for your new wheel if you can. Bearings shod be less expensive than an axle and the 1 inch bearings are better than the 25mm ones.

Yeah, I figured you could go both ways. Is there some trick to getting the 1 inch bearings in there or do they just pop right in? If this is the way to go I am assuming I just need two new bearings and a sleeve to match them.
FXD2003rider, thanks for the link this is buy far the best Dealers web site I have seen.
It just dawned on me that I can just take the bearings and spacer out of my existing wheel and put it in there. It may be better to just get new ones, but it would save me about $60 according to Ronnies price.

1911man...were you able to fit the '06, 1" rear wheel bearings into the '09 wheel? I'm planning on doing the same thing to my '07 to get the black wheel look, and am curious which way you went...1" bearings into '09 wheel...or 25mm rear axle and spacers...
Bearing width is different between the 1in and 25mm. But you can get thin 1in bearings. At least that has been posted in other wheel/bearing threads. I fitted a 6in Fat Boy wheel on my 07 Street Bob and used the fatter 1in bearing. Spacers had to be trimmed. Brake caliper had to be trimmed.
You don't want to reuse your old bearings. They will be stressed if pulled or hammered out.
What about just swapping to 25mm axles and spacers? Is that the easiest method to be able to use '09+ black rim SB wheels on an '07? Or does that still require machining some of the pieces?
Axle goes thru the brake on rear so the rear brake would need to be changed. Check eBay. Changing out the axle, spacers, brake, and wheel shouldn't be too expensive. I had to do machine work because of the wider wheel. There is a slight difference in the 09 (maybe 08, hadn't checked) and newer rear brake calipers that require different spacer lengths. But if you change out everything there should be no problems.
