Dyna foot control configurations... how do you ride?
Dyna Glide ModelsSuper Glide, Super Glide Sport, Super Glide Custom, Dyna Glide Convertible, Super Glide T-Sport, Dyna Glide Police, Dyna Switchback, Low Rider, Street Bob, Fat Bob and Wide Glide.
I run the forwards that came with the bike, but I bought an old (NOS) FLH heel/toe shifter and put that on. It took me almost 2 whole rides to get used to heel/toe shifting (and my dress shoe's toe still shines when I get to work!)
I an thinking about putting on a set of mid pegs, just to have someplace different for my feet to rest.
I'll try to remember to get a photo or two tomorrow.
I have these BMX pedals that I have in a fixed position.
I have fowards and love them. I had them installed day one.
I am 5'8" with a 31" inseam and the fowards feel just right.
The BMX I just added. Before I had extended pegs from HD
Just mounted the FLD footboards to my Fat Bob & I must say this is the single best mod I have done to any bike I have ever owned.
ROLL TIDE
Yep that's my plan as well. Looks like any FL foot board will work but until I dump the stock exhaust system I will need to fabricate up some sort of mount to get around the forward pipe.
See if I am right here please...
My plan is to go with the Dyna-Reduced Reach Forward Control Conversion Kit, then fabricate some sort of extended full rear brake pad and attach that over the stock rear brake lever to extend it out which will also add about .75" towards the rider seat position. My last issue to resolve is the shfter lever, I need to fabricate some sort of mount that moves that back towards the rider about 1-1.5" so that I donot need to cut the seat or change it out to one that reduces the inner thigh padding (which I do not want or need since I can sit with both my feet flat on the ground). Last item is to add about 1" pull back to the bar risers. Your thoughts or advice on this plan? A list of parts suggestions and close up pictures of your mounts would be appreciated. Bob

NOTES: #1; If HD Fwd controls are already on the bike, the existing part is the same P.N .If NOT HD Fwd controls, OR is HD mid controls, this part may be needed.
#2; These parts are needed if the bike has mid controls. If HD Fwd controls are already on the bike, these parts are not needed.
#3; These are Stock FLD (Chrome) footboards and come with the PAD, I Opted for P.N. 51322-08 FOOTBOARDS (Black) from the ’12 HD custom book (I’m not real big on chrome) and my parts guy gave me a set of stock “take off” standard PAD, footrest.`
#4; These are parts listed as an option to removing the outer and inner primary cases to remove the existing shift lever shaft and, cap the holes.

I'm 5'8" with about a 29" inseam and find the stock forward controls to be OK with some tweaks:
- First thing was addressing the bar reach by replacing the 5" black risers with 6" chrome risers that pull-back an extra 1" to bring the bars back.
- Second was getting a set of HD Heel Raiser foot controls with the flip-down heel stirrups to provide me with a better "foot platform" for cruising. Don't think I'm cut out for floor boards just yet.
if the Harley was my only bike I probably would have gone with mid-controls, but given that I have a sport bike in the garage I've got options for different types of riding positions to suit different needs / uses.
Well thanks guys for all the quick replies! A specail thanks to Ironic and Tim who I can credit for me pulling the trigger on my new FatBob. I sat on one and the sales guy who is about my height offered to install a Reduced reach seat on it. This was a Harley seat so not the one with the thigh padding removed, just the butt scooted up about an inch and a little added to the tank area. Man that just about did the trick. We then discussed the suggestions Ironic and Tim suggested and that nailed it along with a full sized FL brake pad. I went in with the plan on buying a used '09 of which the dealer had two, one Grey Pearl, and one Black Denim, along with a Red Denim '08. The deals on the two '09's were pretty tempting especially the Black Denim one which had 15K on the odometer plus had a Vance and Hines Pipes on it, the larger FL style brake pad, LED tail lights, intake mod, programmer, and security. We got down to the pricing and I dropped a slight bomb on him telling him what another dealer had offered on a left over '11 (I did not like the color on it though). He asked if I had riden a 103. I told him yes a '12 Fat Boy 103 and was really impressed. He and the owner came back with a deal I could not turn down placing the price for a '12 right there with the smoking deal I had on the '11 plus a huge discount on all the parts needed to make the changes I want with the floorboards, pipe, intake, tuning, security, and more. So the long and short of it is I now own a '12 FXDF 103cu Black Denim! Thanks guys!
