Default Another newbie question

If I do only the Stage 1 on my Street Bob, do I have to get the SERT? What exactly do I need? I don't want to look like a fool walking in there. Thanks

You don't have to buy the SERT but you do have to reflash the ECM some dealers are still doing a tune but almost all require a tuner of some type. There are plenty out there on the market.

Normally what you get is the stage one download for a new bike with the SE Intake or comparable and some better pipes, used to be SE II slip ons from the dealer.

My recommendation would be to take the bike home stock, decide what pipes and intake you're gonna run, order a PC III from Fuelmoto for about two hundred eighty bucks, install it yourself, pay about two fifty for a dynotune and not spend the money for the stage one download cause your bike still won't run right and you'll spend the other money anyway.

Good Luck

Tom

No. You don't need the sert if your just getting the stage 1 upgrade. All you need is the download to remap your ECM (assuming your getting SE slip-ons). I did this on mine and it runs Great.

You don't have to. They'll download a new map for your injectors for $150.

I've got a Stage I on my '06 Superglide and I added the SERT. If I decide to modify further, I've already got the proper equipment in place, and it's not too much more than the new map anyway. Plus, I have flexibility should I need to change a map (I won't need another $150, for instance).

Ahhh, to have my carb'd Superglide back...

I would recommend it because you will probably want to change your mods at some point and you can re-tune easily.
