So if anyone remembers I made a post a few weeks back about a crunch clank in my 99 fxdx and general concencus was it could be the inner cam bearings but no one really knew. Sold one of my other bikes so said screw it Ill take it to the stealer and see what they say. no definitive answer but my cam gears were slightly out of alignment and my inner cam bearings were the shitty ones so I was having them replaced and while I was at it put in hydraulic cam chain tensioners and my rocker boxes werent clearanced properly for my heads so I had that done. Picked up the bike. they said it was great but then I noticed they scraped my thunderheader and chipped my dash. So I went back in they said they would order the parts and make it right. I leave and immediately notice something is wrong. When I get on it hard in first and second the rpm raise but its not transferred to the rear tire. After its really good and warmed up (20 min of riding or so) it performs better but it did not do this before (i live in south florida so its not cold here) I bring it back and they say it doesnt seem to be performing outside of how it should but no one test rode it when I dropped it off. they still have it but I have a feeling they are going to tell me nothing is wrong. Anyone have any idea why this would happen from they work they did?
i know its almost impossible to do when its your bike and your trying to get it up and running but try not to stress until you know its something major. might just be a clutch adjustment and or clutch cable adjustment.
If you can post a resolution to the problems when you figure them out. it would be nice to know what actually happened. Hey on the plus side you have one of the most kick *** HD's in there history. FXDXs are right up there with FXRs .
Yeah I will definitely let you guys know the outcome. It's hard to not be sour when I took it to the dealer to make sure it was fixed properly. Didn't expect to get it back damaged and in worse shape than when I dropped it off. And to top it all off be slyly accused of trying to get one one over on them.
It's not that it doesn't go at all in first and second. It goes just not how it did. Before I dropped it off there I could run through first and atoms and by the time I was ready to hit third I'd be doing 60-65 now it struggles to get to 45 by then. I can see how this could be a clutch issue but they swear they didn't mess with it.
