All I want is to be flat footed. My left foot hovers about 3/4" off the ground while flat footed on the right. The primary is in the way. I want to lower the bike only 1" both on the rear and front. My wrench wants me to contact Progressive next week to ask whether the Burly Slammers mrmone wrote about "increases the pre-load to decrease the sag to increase height to make up the difference from 10 1/2" to 11". Whatever that means. If the answer is yes then the ride will be rougher and I need to find another solution. If no, the I can purchase it. He does not want the belt or anything else to be taken off the bike to accommodate the lowering. I read on another thread that belts and other modifications had to be made. My, un-named bike, is on his lift waiting for him to return from vacation. I need to figure this out before he comes back.

Excuse me if I may have missed something.
Have you considered modifying your seat fit your height needs?
I’ve had a couple of them cut down and memory foam added.

They were able to make the adjustments I required with no problems.

and i am happy... if you stop by your dealership im sure they would let you try
the seat to check fit before you buy it.

Couple of things; first you do not need lowering shocks for an FLD just for an 06 or later Dyna.If you want to lower the front as well then you'll need to contact Progressive and see if they have a kit for an FLD.All lowering shocks will reduce travel and create a rougher ride.If a custom seat will work that's almost always a better option as it doesn't affect the ride quality unless the seat is too thin then you have kinda the same problem as the shorter shocks. What you really don't want to do is a thin seat with short shocks, don't ask me how I know this.

Yes, I did try the super reached seat and my non-planted foot still hovered about 1/4 to 1/2". I think if the primary positioned where it is I would have made it. Since the primary cannot be moved I have to go to plan B. I always have my seats narrowed by Bitch 'n Stitching. I will do so but I do not want to be sitting on the pan which most likely will happen if I do not lower the bike first. Once the bike is lowered my hope is to order a Mustang solo seat and have it modified.

If the person who installed a Mustang seat is reading this post, could he tell me whether his Mustang seat dropped him lower than the stock seat or caused him to sit higher? Again thank you and any suggestions will be appreciated.

Question about the 2" riser you installed. I wonder whether the riser pulled the handlebars back towards you. If so, installing them may drop me lower on my bike.

I have looked for the floorboard extenders/extensions without success. Today I am going to visit my welder who also is a bike builder and will ask him whether they can be purchased or made.
