Hi everyone, I'm new around here and I'm happy that I finally decided to join hdforums.
As my first question on those forums I would like to know if it's possible to remove the ''sticker'' on a 2006 fxdli like the ones in this picture ?http://www.google.ca/imgres?q=2006+l...1t:429,r:9,s:0 and if so how ?
I have an '07 FXD and I have the same issue, clear coat over the decal. I was thinking about just getting a sheet of black vinyl wrap material (the stuff people cover the hoods of their cars with) and cutting a teardrop type shape for each side and doing a two-tone look on the tank and adding some to the fenders for some accent color. If it turns out well, I considered maybe putting one of the vintage style tank emblem sets. If I ever get around to doing it, I'll post pictures... Unless it looks like crap, then none of you will ever know about it, haha!
I can't tell you if the two tone look will work but I thought about your idea today and I just saw one major problem the vinyle you put over your hood look good as long as the rest of the car is clean because as soon as your car/bike will get dirty you will see the major difference in between the two color.
Anyways thanks for your answer guys and I guess I'll have to live with that ugly emblem.... How come they didn't put a nice one like on every other model -_-'
