I bought a quick release windshield from eBay and got a pretty good deal on it ($90). Here is the problem....the windshield itself looks pretty ruff (BAD DESCRIPTION on eBay and seller hasn't responded). The ruff part about it isn't the normal use stuff as there really isn't any scratches but it appears as if there is a coating on it that is coming off. Isn't everywhere, just in places. I tried taking pictures but they don't show up. Anyone have any idea if there is a polish or something to use to help with this? Thanks in advance for any help.
That's the problem, buying stuff off Ebay, or any other place(sight un-seen).
If you can't get the seller to respond, give him/her some bad marks on the Ebay comments, or go thru an Ebay moderator.
As for the wind screen: Some of the newer ones have a scratch resistant coating on them, and shouldn't have polish used on them.(only a mild non-abrasive cleaner).Sounds like somebody did, and damaged that coating.
AS for repair: There is none. Best you can hope for is to get some good 3-step polish and work at it. Mirror glaze comes to mind. #3 is for sratches, #2 is for polishing, #1 is for cleaning. Over time, you'll remove all the coating.
I have seen windshields that the coating was coming off, probably from a pressure washer (car wash) maybe you could get the rest off with a pressure washer.

That's exactly what is going on. I may try that. I think if I could get the coating off it would be fine.

Clearivew still has their blems on sale, 50% off the already discounted price makes them pretty cheap. Their QC is so high that the "blems" are really not, practically impossible to see the flaws without a UV light.

I was just checking them out less than 30 minutes ago. THANKS!!!
