i checked my head temps after riding 50 miles with my IR gun and they were 330F
Well, not sure what you were measuring, most likely the heat shields or the edge of the cooling fins. This is the temps from an independent test regarding tuners.
Well, the install went alright with one exception. I'm pretty sure that I overtorqued the exhaust bolt. Uh, yeah, I know I did.
The book calls for 10 foot pounds. How you are supposed to get a torque wrench in there is beyond me. Of course, I didn't even look at the book. I just "knew" that they had to be tight.
Crap. If I back them out now I'll probably need a new gasket, correct? Maybe I should just leave well enough alone.
Glad I got the longer nuts.
Maybe you can just leave it all and just add a nut to it all.
For what it's worth I think using anti-zeeze on the nuts just makes it easier to turn and thus actuatly stretching the thread easier.
You need to use 1/4" drive socket, universal joint and 6" extension on your torque wrench to reach the front exhaust port. Its a tight fit but it can be done.

That's probably a pretty close reading but it's much hotter directly at the exhaust port.

Once you put a universal joint/socket on a torque wrench the torque reading goes out the window unless you keep the universal square.
