Check this vide- it's hard to see while the bike is actually moving, but find 60mph on the speedo before he accelerates and see how quickly the needle gets there. Granted there's been some work done to the bike and your question was about stock, but I've got just a Big Sucker filter, slip on's and XIED's and I feel like it's pretty close to this. Literally the flick of a wrist and you're gone.

Fast enough for me. I still think it's weird that there aren't any official numbers for common performance specs. I can find the 40-60 roll on speed for a 1988 Subaru in about 10 seconds, but I can't find it for a current model motorcycle.
The current January edition of Motorcycle Consumer News has a performance index of bikes tested going back about 15 years or so. On 11/98 they tested a FXDX Superglide Sport. It did 0 to 60 in 5.08, 0 to 100 in17.27, 1/4 mile in 13.47 and top speed of 113. A Switch Back tested on 11/11 did 0 to 60 in 5.18, 1/4 mile in 13.66, with a top speed of 118.2. Oly
An 08 dyna stock with a 96 ci motor will do the quarter in about 15 seconds. Now 60 mph would be near the end of second gear maybe the top of 3rd so I am going to guess at 7 seconds depending on the rider.
I really don't know the actual numbers but my 2008 fxd will take most crotch rockets from the line until they get wound up
Ok Ok OK,,, it's a little late I've had a couple jack and cokes,,,I probably shouldnt..cause Im not a sht starter. But ummm. Am I the only one that thinks this is utter BS ??
I mean I love my bike and Im proud of it....but come on man
Without having done an actual test, I'd be confident that off the line a dyna could be quicker.
Once picked up some speed using the clutch effectively the rice-rockets would be in max torque rpm zone and will at that point take off.
at 100mph the rice-rockets will be way ahead.... and still in first gear while the HD would be (behind) stretching the 5th speed..
A modern 600cc weights 2/3 and has 60% more Hp than a Harley: once launched there will be no competition. 0-60 just above 3 seconds. I'd think V-twins don't go below 4secs.
But I'd be very happy if proven wrong at the same time can't be bother less as it's not why I bought the harley.

I'm sure that someone who rides a big twin on a regular basis could get into the 4's on the 0-60. That mag is used to higher revving bikes. Kind of like how Car and Driver can never get a GT500 mustang to run anywhere near what the Mustang mags do. Same would go for any high torque American motor. Different launch technique that they are not used to. Probably can't improve to much on the top end of the 1/4 though due to the hp and aerodynamics.

Probably not too far off if he is stage 1. Only to 30 or 40 though. I bet a stage 1 with a good rider could hit lower 4's to 60. A 600 will so it in the low to mid 3's. They are probably just getting on power about 30 though. From there on they will just fly off like crazy.my friend has a Ducati 916. His bike is good for about 11 flat in the 1/4. His buddy has a 600 that will run into the 10's. He says that he smokes him all of the time odd the line and his buddy has a hard time keeping up with him a lot. It has to do with the right now torque vs. the high revving hp. The Ducati is a torquey V-twin.
