So basically what you are saying is that the gas could never some how end up on a hot exhaust pipe during riding and having a fuel leak that you don't know about and that wouldn't cause a fire? Same thing for a car/truck or any motor for that matter. Exhausts get plenty hot enough to cause the fuel to ignite (especially turbo setups) So again I will state, Acetone is a solvent and will eat your gaskets that are rubber and it will eat plastic as well. So plain and simple you remove enough gasket material that starts a leak, you have a potential fire hazard on your hands (not safe). That is what my post was about and not getting into a pissing contest about engine heat with you....carry on

That would have to be a hell of a leak to allow enough concentration of gas for this to happen. Like, the entire contents of your tank deciding to gush out at once.

Rossi did it once. Of course, his fuel cap came off the bike and he lost the contents of his tank all over his motor. It certainly wasn't just a leak.

Running a turbo is a different beast all together and you could probably count on one hand the number of members on here running turbos on their Harleys.

Either way, searching doesn't really provide any evidence of motorcycle fires due to fuel leaks.

Leaking fuel on any motor area is a potential fire hazard any way you look at it. And fuel is also pressurized on modern motors so a leak will come out with more force than a standard drip. Have you ever ripped an o ring on a injector install? I have and it will create a nice leak and mess to clean up. If you want evidence go to myth busters dude, seriousally. I not here for some fact finding mission or numbers debate with you. I have better things to do with my time. If you think leaking fuel on a motor can't possibly end in a fire then I don't know what else to tell you. I guess all the recalls on vehicles over the years for fuel leaks causing potential fire hazards is not true then. We will just have to agree to disagree
